In October of 2024, the West Seattle Community lost a tremendous influence in the vibrancy and neighborhood feel that has come to represent life here on our peninsula. Patrick Sand, co-founder of the West Seattle Blog, was most known for his presence at nearly everything that happened of note in West Seattle for more than 20 years. He was often seen behind the lens of his camera. What was less known about Patrick was his tireless community building efforts as a planner, influencer and hands on volunteer in launching events like the long running "Summer Movies on the Wall", the West Seattle Artwalk and the West Seattle Garage Sales. These have been enjoyed by literally thousands of neighbors in West Seattle and beyond.
